I'm a big fan of versatile and do-it-all stuff, mainly because I don't want a to buy things that do only one thing. It's the same reason why I would go for a pair of black leather Chucks instead of the usual leather loafers. Yeah, I know, it's not the same thing and it doesn't work all the time but generally, that's how I see things. The same goes for, say, taking photos. Yes I have a DSLR but most of the time it's such a chore to lug around whenever I feel like taking pictures, especially since I'm not a professional. Enter the point of this preamble: my iPhone. Instead of bringing the huge camera and a couple of lenses, I've settled for crappy pictures using my phone's camera for events and out-of-town trips. Most of the time I'm pretty content with it but apps can only do so much. That is why when I found out about the Olloclip, I immediately took an interest. However, said interest took a nosedive when I found out that the darned thing goes for 70 dollars (About P3000) a set. Luckily, there is an alternative.

Ideally I would have wanted to write a long entry for my year-end post, but December has just been so exhausting physically and emotionally that I thought it would be better to recap my year with photos from my Instagram feed.

I chose the ones that stood out; the ones that were most memorable, good or bad. The images tell the story* so no captions are necessary.

So come on in, hop on the TARDIS and let's take one last look at 2012.

So I haven't been posting much lately. Between working and then losing work and then looking for work and moping for weeks because of lack of work, I've been really busy. One good thing about my predicament though, is that I had some free time to join this new band called RomCom.

I haven't done any illustrations lately, I know. But, since the girlfriend got me a few Moleskine sketchpads last Christmas and also since I've convinced myself that it's stupid to have sketching apps on my phone if I'm not going to use them, I told myself that I should draw more often. Right?

God I love flawless logic.

We interrupt your regular blog reading (wait, regular?) to bring you this important piece of news: we have a new kitten in the house, and we I named her River Song. Yes, that character from Doctor Who.

Ever since I started working from home, my social life has taken one hell of a nosedive. Not that I was all Larry the Party Animal before, but at least when I worked in Makati I had the option of eating out with friends or grabbing a few bottles of sweet, sweet beer after (sometimes even DURING) office hours. I've got no one to talk to except my grandparents (I love them and all, but come on) and the stray cats that ransack my room for leftover food. It gets really bad that some days I even talk to myself but frankly, I'm no fun to talk to. It also doesn't help that I am beginning to miss the advertising industry. Lord have mercy.

The good thing about this remote setup however, is that I have the luxury of time. Time which I use to do worthwhile things.
