a friend told me earlier that chris benoit, professional wrestling icon, was found dead in his atlanta home monday afternoon. police are looking at a double-murder suicide scenario, as his wife and son were also found dead in different rooms. they theorized that benoit killed both wife and son over the weekend, then killed himself sometime during the morning of monday.

benoit was scheduled to compete in the WWE pay-per-view "vengeance" sunday, but begged off due to "personal reasons". supposedly, he was the chosen one to win the vacant ECW title.

despite the grim circumstances surrounding this said event, i must say i am saddened by this. benoit was one of my favorites. he exemplified passion and heart only few had in the business.
