Sketches and Stuff: Captain America
August 03, 2011It's been a few days, but I'm still on a high from seeing Captain America: The First Avenger. And, since I seem to be in a drawing mood lately, I thought I'd try and take a crack at doing a piece featuring the Sentinel of Liberty. Makes a lot of sense, yeah?
Now I like the classic comic book costume, but I think the movie version kinda kicked ass as well. The solution? Why, make 2 versions, of course!
I decided to forego my usual minimal/silhouette/lazy approach this time and went (relatively) all out. These bastards took me quite a bit of time to complete because I kept coming back to revise some parts, especially with Movie Cap. I'm pretty satisfied with how they turned out though.

Nice! Especially the second version. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen Captain America throws his mighty shield,
ReplyDeleteAll those who chose to oppose his shield must yield.
If he’s led to a fight and a duel is due,
Then the red and white and the blue’ll come through
When Captain America throws his mighty shield.
